Calgary Flames schedule 2026
The NHL regular season runs 82 games — 41 home, 41 road — opening in early October and closing in mid-April before the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Flames play every divisional rival four times, every other Western Conference team three times, and every Eastern Conference team twice on a home-and-home rotation. The schedule is built around a few non-negotiable Flames nights. Battle of Alberta against the Edmonton Oilers runs two or three dates at the Saddledome plus matching dates in Edmonton; a Canucks home-and-home that swings the Pacific race; an Original Six visit from Toronto or Montreal that always sells out; and the occasional Heritage Classic outdoor game, which the Flames have hosted at McMahon Stadium against Montreal in 2011 and at Commonwealth Stadium against Edmonton. Preseason starts in late September with split-squad games against Edmonton, Vancouver and Winnipeg, plus a Young Stars rookie tournament in Penticton. The Flames travel substantially — long California swings in November and February, an Eastern road trip near the trade deadline. If Calgary clinches a playoff spot, the postseason adds best-of-seven rounds through April, May and into June. This page lists the next several games in order with TV info, faceoff in Mountain Time and a deep link to seat maps.
The Flames live in the Pacific Division alongside Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle, Vegas, Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose, so the schedule cycles through a lot of mountain-and-coast travel. After a home stand you'll usually see them dip into a Western swing — a couple of California stops, a Vegas or Seattle leg, sometimes a Winnipeg pivot on the way back. Eastern trips come in tighter clusters, often built around a Toronto-Montreal-Ottawa loop or an Original Six week. The "Next game" pin below tells you the opponent, the venue, the local start time, the Calgary-time conversion and the broadcast. If the Flames are on the road, expect the puck to drop in Calgary anywhere between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. MT.

About the Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames are the NHL's hard-hat team in the foothills, the club that pulled into town from Atlanta in 1980 and never bothered to look back. They lift the Stanley Cup banner from 1989 above the Scotiabank Saddledome ice, where the upside-down silhouette of the roof has been a Calgary skyline marker for four decades. Tonight, like most nights they're home, the building goes full "C of Red" — sweaters, foam fingers and a seven-row deep singalong of the anthem that travels well past Stampede Park.
The current core leans on Jonathan Huberdeau as the play-driving winger up front and Nazem Kadri down the middle, two veterans hired to keep the Flames relevant in a Pacific Division that turns over quickly. Behind them the organization is steering toward Scotia Place, the planned downtown arena that will eventually replace the Saddledome and reshape the Stampede Grounds. For now the old barn still hosts every home game on Sportsnet West and remains one of the loudest buildings in the league when Edmonton or Vancouver come through.
If you're trying to find the Flames tonight, this page is your shortcut: puck drops, broadcast info, ticket benchmarks and the matchups that move the standings, all in one place and updated as the schedule rolls.

Flames tickets at the Scotiabank Saddledome run on a tiered matrix that prices games by opponent, day of week and seat location. Premium clubs — the Chrysler Club, the Bell Vista Penthouse, the Igloo, the corporate suites — price separately and often include in-seat food and bar service. The two big surges are Edmonton Oilers visits, which roughly double the get-in price across the entire bowl thanks to Battle of Alberta demand, and Saturday-night Hockey Night in Canada dates against Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. The Flames sell family packs of four that bundle tickets, hot dogs and drinks at a discount for select Sunday afternoon games — those go up at the team site when released.
Matchday at Scotiabank Saddledome
When the Calgary Flames play at home, Scotiabank Saddledome fills with ice hockey fans across the 19,289-seat arena. The venue has hosted games since 1983. The rivalry with the Kraken (3 recorded meetings) lifts the atmosphere a notch and pushes ticket demand higher. Get there early — 45 minutes or so — to settle in before play begins. Expect to be at Scotiabank Saddledome for around 2–3 hours.

Flames vs Oilers — Battle of Alberta
The Battle of Alberta is the headline match of the Flames calendar and one of the loudest rivalries the NHL still has. Three hours up Highway 2, Edmonton has Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl; Calgary answers with Huberdeau, Kadri and a building that genuinely hates them. The teams played each other in the 1980s in the Smythe Division Final almost every spring, traded Stanley Cups for half a decade, and revived the rivalry in the 2022 second round when the Oilers ended Calgary's run in five. Saddledome tickets for an Oilers visit roughly double in price across the bowl, the C of Red rolls out in full and the broadcast jumps to Hockey Night in Canada or a Sportsnet national window. Two-to-three Battles a year at the Saddledome plus matching dates in Edmonton.
Flames vs Canucks
Calgary-Vancouver is the second-loudest Western Canadian rivalry, a Pacific Division match that usually decides who finishes above the playoff line and who has to win a wild-card race. The Canucks lean on Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and a top-six that has historically given Calgary trouble; the Flames lean on heavy forecheck hockey and Saddledome crowd noise. The rivalry has flashes of real heat — the 2004 first round, the 2015 first round and a long line of late-season standings games. Tickets at the Saddledome run a tier above mid-week matchups but below an Oilers visit. Broadcast splits between Sportsnet West (Calgary feed) and Sportsnet Pacific (Vancouver feed), so the call you hear depends on which side of the Rockies your provider is on.
Flames vs Jets
The Jets are the Flames' closest non-Alberta rival geographically — the easy Western Canada flight, the prairie-versus- foothills matchup, the only other Canadian Western Conference team. Connor Hellebuyck has been a thorn in Calgary's side for years; the Flames in turn have been one of the harder matchups Winnipeg sees on the road. Both teams trade fourth-line scraps and tight defensive play, and the games often turn on a special-teams swing or a single Hellebuyck save in the third period. Saddledome tickets for a Jets visit price in the mid-tier — cheaper than Edmonton, more expensive than a non-divisional Eastern visitor — and the matchup tends to be a litmus test for where Calgary sits in the wild-card race. Three meetings a year under the standard rotation. Broadcasts split between Sportsnet West and the Jets' regional feed, TSN3, depending on which side of the provincial border your cable bill ends up on.
Flames vs Maple Leafs
The Leafs come west once a year and Calgary's bowl shifts visibly — half the crowd seems to be in blue, and the Saddledome turns into a neutral-site building for a night. Auston Matthews, William Nylander and the Toronto core draw a different ticket buyer than the regular Flames base, so Maple Leafs nights price near Saturday Oilers nights at the resale level. Calgary plays Toronto twice a year on the standard Eastern Conference rotation — once at the Saddledome, once at Scotiabank Arena. The Saturday Hockey Night in Canada window almost always carries the matchup, so a Toronto visit doubles as the biggest TV night of the year for the Flames outside an Oilers Battle.
Flames vs Canadiens
Calgary and Montreal share the only Stanley Cup Final story that still defines the Flames franchise — 1986, won by the Habs in five behind a rookie Patrick Roy; 1989, won by the Flames at the Forum, the only visiting team ever to lift the Cup on Canadiens ice. That history shows up every time the Canadiens come west; older Flames fans still wear 1989 sweaters on Habs nights, and the in-arena hype reel always cuts back to Lanny McDonald with the Cup. The current on-ice matchup is a rebuild-versus-contender contrast, but the crowd buy-in is real: a Saturday Saddledome date against Montreal sells out a year in advance and gets the Hockey Night in Canada Saturday window. Broadcasts run on Sportsnet West with the Calgary feed; the Quebec feed picks up TVA Sports and RDS in French. Two meetings a year on the standard rotation.
Flames vs Kraken
Seattle is the newest divisional opponent and the shortest flight on the Pacific schedule outside of Vancouver, an hour and a half over the Rockies. Climate Pledge Arena draws a younger, louder, neutral-leaning crowd that the Flames have learned to play through, and the Kraken's tight-checking style turns most meetings into one- goal third-period games. The rivalry hasn't had a playoff chapter yet but the divisional weight is real — every Pacific seed is decided in games like this one. Four matchups a year on the divisional rotation — two at the Saddledome, two in Seattle, with at least one usually scheduled on a weekend in each building. Broadcasts split across Sportsnet West and ROOT Sports Northwest on the Seattle side. Tickets at the Saddledome for a Kraken visit price at the lower end of the matrix — closer to a Tuesday-night non-divisional game than a weekend marquee — making this a sneaky-good value pick for a first NHL game.
Where to sit at Scotiabank Saddledome
Scotiabank Saddledome has a distinctive saddle-shaped roof and a compact bowl that puts most seats closer to the ice than at newer NHL buildings. The lower bowl, sections 101 through 124, offers the strongest sightlines, with the center-ice rows along the sides delivering the cleanest view of breakouts, line changes, and the neutral-zone transition game that defines Flames hockey. Behind-the-net seats in the lower bowl are popular with families because you watch the Flames attack twice during the game, and they often price below center-ice sections while still offering close-up action. The club level wraps around the middle tier and includes access to indoor lounges, upgraded concessions, and shorter restroom lines, which makes it a strong choice when temperatures outside drop and you want a warmer pregame experience. Premium options include the Scotiabank Saddledome Club and party lofts that suit groups looking for a shared social space rather than fixed seats. The upper bowl, sections 201 through 224, climbs more steeply because of the building's unique roofline, so the back rows feel higher than the listed numbers suggest, but the elevated angle lets you read plays develop in a way lower seats cannot. Choose upper-bowl center-ice for the best balance of view and value, and avoid the very last rows along the corners if you prefer a flatter perspective. For first visits, target lower-bowl corner sections or club-level rows to combine atmosphere with comfort. Always check the row number against a seating chart, because the rake near the top of each section can change how the rink reads from your seat.
