About American Airlines Center tickets
American Airlines Center is Dallas’s flagship downtown indoor venue, the dual home of the NBA Dallas Mavericks and the NHL Dallas Stars, and the anchor of the Victory Park entertainment district just north of the central business district. The building sits at 2500 Victory Avenue, hard against Interstate 35E on the west and the DART Victory Station rail platform on the east, with the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the Trinity River corridor a short walk to the west. It opened in July 2001, replacing the aging Reunion Arena across town, and was financed jointly by the late Mavericks owner Ross Perot Jr. and former Stars owner Tom Hicks under the Center Operating Company structure that still runs the building today. The room turns over from hardwood to ice and back inside the same week from October through April, then leans into a mega-tour concert schedule the rest of the year that has lately delivered Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Drake, Bad Bunny, Karol G and Madonna. Mavs banners hang from the rafters, including the 2011 NBA Championship banner from the Dirk Nowitzki run, alongside Stars Western Conference banners and the franchise’s 1999 Stanley Cup hardware that traveled over from Reunion Arena. Outside the main entrance, the Dirk Nowitzki bronze statue installed on Nowitzki Way sets the tone the moment fans step off the DART platform, and the Victory Park plaza beyond it has filled in with restaurants, hotels and the W Dallas residences. For North Texans this is the centre of the metroplex’s pro sports identity and the building every major touring artist has to clear before a North American run is considered complete.
