The club plays at BC Place, a 54,000-seat domed stadium in downtown Vancouver that opened in 1983 and features a retractable roof after its 2011 renovation — ensuring games go on regardless of Vancouver’s famously wet weather. Lions legends like Joe Kapp, Lui Passaglia (the CFL’s all-time points leader), Doug Flutie, Damon Allen and Travis Lulay have shaped the franchise’s identity in black, orange and white. Rivalries with the other Western Division clubs — especially the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Elks — define the regular-season schedule, and the Western Final at BC Place has produced some of the CFL’s most memorable moments. The Lions are the only CFL team west of the Rockies and carry the torch for Canadian football across all of British Columbia, from the Lower Mainland to the Interior and Vancouver Island.
