About the Charlotte FC

Charlotte FC is MLS's 28th club, debuting in 2022 and playing at Bank of America Stadium. They set MLS expansion records for season-ticket sales before kicking a single ball.

Charlotte FC joined MLS as the 28th club in 2022, immediately setting an expansion record with over 35,000 season tickets sold before the first match. The club plays at Bank of America Stadium — sharing the 74,000-capacity NFL venue with the Carolina Panthers — which gives Charlotte FC some of the largest home attendances in the league. A vibrant supporter culture anchored by Section 9 has developed in their debut seasons.

A Charlotte FC game, from gate to final whistle

When the Charlotte FC play at home, Bank of America Stadium fills with soccer fans across the 74,867-seat stadium. The venue has hosted games since 1996. The rivalry with the Atlanta United (2 recorded meetings) lifts the atmosphere a notch and pushes ticket demand higher. Doors usually open well before the first whistle, so arriving 45 minutes early leaves time for security and concessions. Most soccer games run about 2–3 hours.
